A Review in: Achieving Excellence in Communications
Achieving Excellence in Communication
Every day you are in situations where you need to communicate with others using a variety of methods. If you lack the confidence to use any number of the methods listed below, then the value of the information that you are trying to convey is diminished.
To be successful, personally and professionally, effective communication is a key component. Having the ability to confidently use multiple communication platforms to accurately express yourself and your ideas gives you an advantage in today’s world. In the last ten years, there has been a significant increase in the use of social media and web based information providers, as sources for personal and business information.
In some cases individuals have used social media as their only method of communication, putting them at a disadvantage. You know in your own personal make-up that face to face contact is essential; we are social beings that require the closeness of others that a computer just can’t give us.
Having confidence in your ability to communicate by direct conversation, by written words, or by the passion and conviction you are able to show others in expressing your views and ideas, gives you a distinct advantage.
Review the list of communication choices and rank what you feel is your effectiveness, comfort level, and ease of use for each on the next page. If there are methods that you do not currently use write down why you don’t use them. Which one works best for you – which ones give you the least results.
