Do You Know “Who You Are and What Really Matters Most to You?”
Belief in oneself and knowing who you are, that’s the foundation for everything great.
~ Jay-Z
Your foundation in life plays a major part in your happiness and success. Many areas help make up a solid foundation and your habits play a big role in building your foundation.
Your Habits Determine Your Future
A habit is something you do so often that it comes easily to you. It is a behaviour that
you keep repeating until it becomes automatic. If you want to distance yourself from the masses and enjoy a unique lifestyle, understand that your habits will determine your future.
Negative habits breed negative consequences. Successful habits create positive rewards.
You’re Belief System
What you think and tell yourself is a direct reflection of your belief system. Your belief system is what you believe to be true about yourself, other people and the world in general. Examples include “life is unfair” and “most people are untrustworthy”.
A belief system is like a house’s foundation. You know it’s there, but you rarely pay attention to it. Instead, your focus is on the house. Thoughts are like the house – easily visible and accessible. Working with thoughts instead of beliefs is the easiest way to change how you think.
Boundaries are like psychological stop signs. They are limits that you set with yourself and other people to keep yourself psychologically healthy. They prevent you from overextending yourself or getting involved in situations that cause you distress.
Without strong, healthy boundaries, it’s tough to know when to say “enough is enough”, both in your business and personal life. This leads us to feeling overworked and out of touch with our own needs.
Goals
Setting goals around what you want your life to look like, what you want to achieve, who you want to be, how you want to manage your time to achieve the things you want to do who you want to associate with, is all part of putting a solid foundation together.
Your Vision
Do you have a clear Vision? A vision statement is personal and an expression of where you want to go. You need to believe in it. It is a very important part of your foundation.
